First of all, no one else calls it "le Bout de Sac". If you were to be in Trébrivan and ask for directions to "le Bout de Sac", you'd get a blank look. It's just our own affectation. Secondly, please don't look for luxury; you won't find it. The house is comfortable and clean, but not top-end designer-style by a long chalk.

The photo below shows part of the living room, which is a spacious 35 square metres in area. The log burner is the principal heating and is very efficient. Just out of shot is an extendable dining table with four seats.

In the living room, you'll find a CD/cassette player and radio (it's on the sideboard in the photo on the left) and a selection of CDs from our collection. Our taste might not match yours, so please bring your own as well, although you're welcome to play any of ours, just leave them where you found them after your stay.

In the sideboard there's a small selection of board games, local maps and guide leaflets along with some stationery and assorted other items. Please make use of anything you find here; again please leave it where you found it after your stay.

Leading off the living room is the shower room and also (through a different doorway) the kitchen/diner. In the kitchen there is a dining table with room for six place settings.

The kitchen is equipped with a four burner (bottled) gas hob, a microwave combi-oven, dishwasher, fridge with small/moderate freezer (in the photo above, the freezer compartment is the upper part of the fridge-freezer). There is plenty of crockery and cutlery along with cooking utensils, saucepans etc. Everything necessary (and a few things that probably aren't) to prepare and cook a decent meal. We do store sundries such as stock-cubes, cornflour, sauces and jams in the kitchen which you are welcome to use, we only ask that you replace like-for-like before you leave, and ensure all containers are securely closed to avoid tempting the local mouse population into the house.

Leading off the kitchen is a door to the rear patio-garden. The patio and the view is shown in the photo on the left. The shot was taken on a less than sunshiny day; Brittany is lovely but can get wet!

Here's another view looking straight out from the patio, the photo kindly supplied by some of our guests who stayed at Le Bout de Sac when the weather was distinctly better than in the shot above.

The utility area also opens off the kitchen and is equipped with a washing machine and spin dryer. There is also a set of shelves where we keep assorted tools which are within reach of small hands so if you are bringing children, please keep a very careful eye on them for their own safety. Also through the utility area is the one and only loo. It's clean and it works, but it's not even slightly soundproofed: please leave your inhibitions at home!

On the first floor you'll find two bedrooms; the one shown here is the double room. The other (not illustrated) has two single beds and is larger.

Up a further storey (and it's a steep climb up a typically Breton "ladder" staircase) is the largest bedroom with a kingsized bed, shown left.

That just about covers the layout. The house comfortably sleeps six people.

A short word about smoking:

Le Bout de Sac is a smoke-free environment. We have no way of policing this, but we ask that guests do not smoke inside at Le Bout de Sac; we are non-smokers ourselves. Le Bout de Sac is not equipped with ashtrays. If you do indulge in the "evil weed" (of any variety), please do so outside and dispose of your butts properly.
