To book a holiday rental period at "Le Bout de Sac", 8 Place St Anne, Trébrivan, Brittany (hereinafter known as The Property) from its owners, A J and N M Roberts of The Piper’s Cottage, 2 Newport Terrace, Millbrook, PL10 1BS UK (hereinafter referred to as TheOwners).
Terms and conditions: 1. To make your initial reservation just complete the E-mail Booking Formor telephone 01752 829220.
2. As long as your required dates are available your reservation will be held for up to one week to allow you to make ferry reservations. If you experience any difficulty or need to change the dates within that one week option period, please contact The Owners as soon as possible.
3. On or before the one week option period has expired you will need to send a deposit of 30% of the total cost to The Owners (but see para 5 below for late bookings). We can only accept payment in sterling and any cheques must be payable to N M & A J Roberts and drawn on a UK account. If you prefer to use internet banking, please let us know and we will provide you with the necessary details. This deposit will not be refundable in the event of cancellation unless The Owners are able to re-let the property for the dates that you had booked.
4. Six weeks before your intended stay at The Property you will need to pay the remaining balance of your rental price and a £120 security deposit (the security deposit will be refunded to you shortly after your return once our cleaner / key holder has confirmed that all is well and we or the local keyholder have received keys back from you). The security deposit will be used in full or in part to cover any “excessive” cleaning costs or breakages that cannot be termed as “normal wear and tear” in the opinion of The Owners (see also para 6 and 8 below).
5. Late payment may result in the cancellation of your reservation with loss of deposit. See para 3 for acceptable forms of payment. In the event of a late booking, the owners may require payment by direct bank transfer, details will be provided if necessary. No refund of rental charges will be made for cancellation of booking less than six weeks prior to booked arrival date at The Property; it is recommended that all holiday tenants take appropriate travel insurance to protect against last minute cancellation.
6. The Property will be clean and ready for use upon your arrival; one set of keys will be sent to you approximately seven to ten days before your intended arrival or arrangements will be made to collect keys from a local key holder. A second set of keys is kept at The Property and must be left there on the date of departure. The first set of keys must be returned by post to the owners upon completion of the journey home or returned to the local keyholder, whichever is appropriate and pre-arranged. The security deposit will not be refunded until keys have been returned.
7. Everyday breakages are accepted as part and parcel of letting a holiday cottage complete with crockery, glasses etc – but please let The Owners know as soon as practicable so that they can arrange replacement items as necessary. The Owners reserve the right to make charges in the event of valuable items being damaged (eg furniture, electrical equipment, pictures etc); such charges will be limited to the value of replacement of damaged items or their repair if practicable.
8. Before you leave The Property at the end of your stay, please check that you’ve not left anything behind; our key-holder will find it and pretty much anything can be forwarded on to you, but we will have to charge any out-of-pocket expenses for doing so.
9. Also before you leave The Property at the end of your stay please make sure that it is clean and tidy. We do have a cleaner, but an extra charge will be made in the event of “excessive” cleaning requirement: so no leaving muddy footprints around The Property; please swill out the shower tray and wash-basin; put away any crockery/glasses/utensils, take your rubbish and recycling to the local wheelie bins (behind the main church near the Mairie), give the kitchen surfaces and microwave a quick wipe over, and empty the fridge. The Property is in a rural area and mice are a constant problem, so it is VERY IMPORTANT to ensure you do not leave any food or crumbs.
10. At the end of your stay, please vacate The Property by 12:00 noon unless otherwise arranged with The Owners and/or the key-holder. In the event of any complaint, please note that The Owners are not bonded to or by ABTA or any other organisation. The Owners will do their utmost to resolve any dispute amicably and to the satisfaction of all concerned. The jurisdiction of English law will apply in all circumstances.
